    Amen! Religion as psychological manipulation has been used for centuries… and is alive and running today. It’s had damaged the reputation of the church, possibly beyond repair. Your message is timely… and does a great job of accurately portraying what YHWH thinks of all this ridiculous and damaging behaviour.

    Thanks (and thanks for your work on Hebrew Word Lessons – I save them all). One temptation for pastors is to try to move people emotionally to “do what’s good for them.” Tell the right combination of stories – a couple funny ones and a heart-wrencher – and people will feel they’ve heard from heaven. May God save me and all of us from such manipulation.
