I have been trying to figure out how to capture video from our streaming service so that I could post only the sermon on my blog. Two requests for help have gone unanswered to date. So, if any of you know how to snip the sermon out of the stream on a Christian World Media format, please comment below. For now, I will provide a link and a counter number for the spot the sermon begins.
Go to https://www.californiaroad.org/pages/watch and click on the Sunday, May 19th service. The sermon begins at approximately 54:10.
This survey of Acts 2 can be outlined this way: What Happened: The Event (vv. 1-4); What Was Going On: The Setting (vv. 5-13); What it Meant: The Sermon (vv. 14-35); What to Do About It: The Application (vv. 36-41); and What Resulted: The Church (vv. 42-47).
If you have comments, be sure to leave them below.
1 – Go to http://www.californiaroad.org/pages/watch and click on sermon to play
2 – Right click and select ‘Show controls’
3 – Click on 3 vertical dots in lower right and select ‘Download’
4 – Split video file (mp4) using http://www.adobe.com/express/feature/video/editor/mp4 and download edited mp4
5 – Upload mp4 to your website

Terry, I did snip the video as directed, but the sound is almost completely absent. Is there something I missed?

The sound works on my copy. There are other free video editors. I found the Adobe one via a Google search. It’s the first time I’ve used it. Are you running an Apple or Windows PC?

Windows 11. I will try it again, but I’m not sure what I can do differently that will give me sound. I appreciate your help on this–I’m closer than I was before!

Since you’re on Windows there are several programs you can try. I’ve used VideoPad by NCH Software (I have no financial connection to NCH). You should be able to edit your video and decide later if the price is worth it for any ongoing needs. If you don’t need the video and can get by with only the audio you can use WavePad by NCH to convert the mp4 file to an mp3 and then edit the audio. My daughter uses this weekly to edit our pastor’s sermons for posting to the web.

Thanks, Terry, for the suggestions. I am going to try the Adobe free version again before moving on to something new. I am a tech novice; it is likely that the failure lies with me and not the software.
