The Good Shepherd, Part 1 (John 10)

We preachers usually go to the Good Shepherd passage looking for whatever good news we can find about us – and that is not wrong. But it may miss the point. John included the Good Shepherd passage primarily because of what is has to say about Jesus, and especially that he is the Messiah (John 20:31). This sermon answers a question that leaves many readers puzzled. Jesus claims that he told the Jewish religious leaders that he was the Messiah. But when did he tell them? That is what we discover in this first look at the Good Shepherd. PS. We’ll also find good news in John 10 about us!
